Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you enquire about a listing (including asking for a site visit): your name, phone number, email address and message, the visit date and time you choose, and which listing and page you sent it from. We email you a code to confirm your email address; confirming it creates a sign-in for that address. If confirmation fails, your enquiry is still sent, marked as unconfirmed.

When you use the general inquiry form: your name, phone number, email address, property type, budget and message.

When you enquire about a new project or ask for a service (such as legal or loan help): your name, mobile number, optional email address, city or preferred contact time, your message, and whether you ticked the box to let us pass your enquiry to the developer or partner.

When you list a property: the email address you sign in with (by an emailed code; there is no password) and your name; the listing details, including the contact name, phone number and email you give for it; the photos you upload; and the map location if you set one.

When a developer claims a project page: the business and contact details and evidence entered in the claim form.

If you save properties or searches while signed in, we keep those lists with your account.

How the site is used: which listings are viewed, enquiry steps, searches typed on the Buy and Rent pages, and links you arrived from (including campaign tags in the link). These are recorded against a random identifier created in your browser, not your name. To stop spam and abuse we also record your IP address against the number of requests it makes.

How we use it

• To send your enquiry to the right person and help you with it.
• To run seller accounts, check listings before they go live and show them to buyers.
• To send service emails: sign-in and confirmation codes, listing received, approved or needing changes, and new-enquiry alerts to sellers.
• To apply the free listing allowance, prevent spam and keep the site secure.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not send marketing emails.

Who receives your details

• The seller of the listing you enquire about. For a listing posted by an owner or broker, your name, phone number, email address (if given) and message are shown to that seller in their seller dashboard and sent to them in an email alert. Our team can also see the enquiry. Once the seller has your details they may contact you directly, and how they then use them is their responsibility.
• Our team receives all other enquiries (listings we post ourselves, the general inquiry form, projects and services).
• A developer or partner only if you tick the box asking us to share your project or service enquiry with them, and only for that enquiry.
• Sellers' own contact details are never published. Buyers see them only if the seller chooses to reply.
• Listing details and photos are public once our team approves the listing. Photo files are stored at web addresses that anyone with the exact link can open, including while a listing is under review, so please don't upload photos showing people, documents or vehicle number plates, and don't put identity numbers, bank details or passwords in listings or messages.
• Service providers who run parts of the site for us: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in emails), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (email delivery), Ahrefs (website visit analytics) and OpenStreetMap (map images loaded by your browser, and turning a listing's locality into a map position).
• Authorities, when the law requires it.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising cookies. The site stores the following in your browser:

• your sign-in session, if you sign in;
• an unfinished listing (details and photos) so it isn't lost, for up to 30 days;
• which listings you have enquired about, and the contact details you entered, so you don't have to type them again (a confirmed email is remembered for 24 hours);
• the random identifier used for the usage records described above.

Signing out removes the private items from that browser; the random identifier stays. Ahrefs Analytics measures visits with its own script; see Ahrefs' privacy policy for what it stores.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries, accounts, listings and the records above while they are needed to run the service and handle enquiries, or until you ask us to delete them. We have not yet set automatic deletion periods; when we do, this page will say so. Records of the free listing allowance are kept so the monthly limit can be applied correctly. An unfinished listing stays in your browser for up to 30 days.

Your choices: access, correction and deletion

• Email support@grihayum.com from the address you used with us to see, correct or delete your details. We may ask you to confirm it is you.
• Sellers can withdraw a listing that is under review or needs changes from My Listings. To take down a live listing or close your account, email us.
• Deleting your details with us does not remove a copy a seller already received about your enquiry; ask that seller directly.

Security

Sellers can see only the enquiries about their own listings, and only our staff can open the enquiry records in our CRM. Unapproved listings are not shown publicly. No method of storing data is completely secure, but we limit who can reach it.

Children

Accounts, listings and enquiries are meant for adults aged 18 or over. Please don't submit a child's personal information; if you think that has happened, email support@grihayum.com and we will look into it.
